Hi! We are Wagokoro, a dessert brand led by Naho from Japan and her team in Serbia. Our goal is to create and spread an authentic Japanese experience in Belgrade.
We would like to invite you to our charming home, decorated in a Japanese minimalist style, located on a quiet street in lower Dorćol. Here you can enjoy our artisanal "mochi" desserts, together with our exquisite selection of different teas. If you can't come to us, we also deliver our treats to you, for a Japanese experience at home.
"Wagokoro" (和心) is a combination of two words. "Wa" means harmony, peaceful, relaxing, and is also used as an adjective to describe something Japanese, while "Gokoro" means heart, mind or spirit. Our wish is that our Wagokoro desserts will bring such feelings to your heart, one sweet indulgence at a time... :)
Wagokoro currently focuses on creating traditional Japanese confectionary called “Daifuku” (also known as "mochi" in English), which literally means “big happiness”! :) It consists of a round chewy dough made of glutinous rice, usually stuffed with a sweet red bean filling made from “azuki” red bean. Mochi may also come in a variety of fillings such as chocolate, fruits, ice cream and so on. Wagokoro adds a twist to traditional Japanese desserts. We want to create our own original flavors in a way that can be enjoyed by people who have never tried these desserts before, as well as by those who already adore traditional Japanese desserts.
In order to meet the highest standard of Japanese dessert-making, we first selected excellent quality imported glutinous rice flour and minimized the amount of added sugar to allow the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through. Each mochi is carefully hand-wrapped one-by-one by our artisans to ensure only the highest quality of production.
